Every Sumner County voter will see the federal and state races and the three proposed constitutional amendments. City races and the Goodlettsville referendum appear only for voters who live inside that city, and some city races depend on your ward or district.

The Tennessee General Assembly has proposed three amendments to the Tennessee Constitution. Each proposal was approved by a majority of both chambers during the 113th General Assembly (2023–2024) and by a two-thirds majority during the 114th General Assembly (2025–2026). Tennessee voters will now decide whether to approve or reject each amendment.
To be adopted, an amendment must receive more “yes” than “no” votes, and the number of “yes” votes must be more than half of all votes cast in the governor's race.
Goodlettsville voters will also decide a city sales tax referendum. Sumner Votes is nonpartisan and does not take a position on any of these questions.
Constitutional Amendment #1
Would expand the offenses for which a judge may deny bail before trial under specified circumstances.
Constitutional Amendment #2
Would prevent the Tennessee General Assembly from imposing a state property tax. Tennessee does not currently have one.
Constitutional Amendment #3
Would expand and revise the rights provided to crime victims in Tennessee's Constitution, including rights to notice, participation, protection, and restitution.
Goodlettsville Voters Only
This referendum asks whether to raise Goodlettsville's local sales tax by a half-penny per dollar, from 2.25% to 2.75%. The ballot says the money would be used to invest in city services such as parks, roads, and public safety. On a $100 purchase, the increase would be 50 cents.

Any registered Sumner County voter can vote early at any of these locations. Early voting is closed on Sundays.

On Tuesday, November 3, polls are open 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and you must vote at your assigned precinct. Your polling place is determined by your registered address. Use the Tennessee Voter Lookup Tool to find your exact location.

Yes. During early voting (October 14–29), any registered Sumner County voter can vote at any early voting location, no matter where in the county you live. On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct.

Choosing a party ballot does not make you a registered member of that party. In general elections, all candidates appear on a single ballot.
